Release Overview​

RCOM Gateway 3.8.1 builds on the 3.8.0 release with improved data migration, storage management, workflow configuration, and system usability.

This release adds support for importing and exporting object attachments with Object Data, as well as Storage Provider import and export through XML and packages. Data Cleanup can now remove unused object attachments, while audit logging, Event Rules, workflow actions, and Workflow Job group filtering have also been enhanced.

RCOM Gateway 3.8.1 also includes fixes for audit log information, Event Rules, Object Group and package imports, Stock View filtering, translations, and workflow actions to improve reliability and day-to-day usability.

Key Highlights​

Enhanced Data Migration and Storage Management​

Object Data import/export now supports attachments, and Storage Providers can be imported and exported through XML and packages. Data Cleanup can also remove unused object attachments associated with deleted or obsolete log records.

Improved Workflow Configuration​

Object Change trigger events now include Group information and can be filtered by Group. EPCIS event generation, WebRequest configuration, and Workflow Job filtering have also been enhanced.

Important Upgrade Note​

Recreate all Object Change Event Rules by removing and re-adding the trigger. Otherwise, the Event Processor may report errors when processing Object Change events.

  • [Workflow Actions - CreateEpcisEvent_V1]: Updated EPCIS event generation to use the current date and time when Event Time is not provided, derive the time-zone offset from Event Time, and support optional Event ID, Business Location, and Disposition values.
  • [Workflow Actions - WebRequest]: Added support for selecting all supported HTTP methods and logging the selected method in WebRequest CONFIG logs.
  • [Workflow Jobs - Group Filter]: Updated Workflow Jobs to display only jobs applicable to the selected user group and show the group filter only for users assigned to multiple groups.

  • [Workflow Actions - GetReferencingObjects_V1]: Fixed the action returning the Object Group name instead of the unique Object Group name.
  • [Workflow Actions - JSON Schema Validation]: Fixed JSON Input Schema validation for schemas that use $ref references.
